Welcome to LUSTER Studios webpage! ๐Ÿ˜„

Hello friends, and Welcome to my new Blog!! So, here we areโ€ฆ living on a beautiful rock full of nifty life forms hurtling through space along with the rest of our Solar family. Isnโ€™t it fascinating that each of us gets to be ourselves, being human, the just one you in something like 4.5 Billion years.

Of all the things possible, in this lifetime I get to be an artist!!๐Ÿฅฒ Although, really, all of us are born natural artists and scientists. Thatโ€™s easy to forget as each of us becomes more and more molded by forces outside of us, often beyond our control or appeasement. Being human has been, by far, the hardest thing Iโ€™ve ever done. Trying to express the experience of this has also been a huge challengeโ€ฆ and so, I make art. That is to say, I love to create things with my hands and one of my absolute favourite mediums is Epoxy Resin.

Resin is a two part mixture of epoxy and hardener that, when mixed together, cure and become hard. When pouring this mixture into silicone or plastic molds, they cure as that shape. So many different random things can be added to resin; mica pigments, glitter, sequins, sand, threads and yarns, liquid pigments and even picture inserts or plastic toys and figurines. I started using resin as a medium in 2012, being inspired by various social media platforms which sometimes featured other peoples unique art. So far, I have created alien heads, coffin shakers, bubble stars, dishes and coasters, pillars and pretty pins. You name the accessory, I gave it a shot; earrings, gauged plugs, giant bauble finger rings, extra-level ear cuffs. Bracelets and glittery buttons and beads. Iโ€™ve made Pyramids, spatula rests, 3D skulls with multi-colour layers, cell phone stands, hair clips and hand fans. For so long, the options were endless!! Of course, not all options can be chosen and life, as well, went along. I put away my studio stuff and focused on work for a while, as well as relationship changes. Then along came the year 2020โ€ฆ

Yup, it was quarantine when I got back onto Instagram and there in my feed was a whole lot of gorgeous, interesting, unique art. Then, remembered how much fun resin creation is. Bam, got back into it!!! ๐Ÿ˜„Since then, Iโ€™ve been to many terrific art markets and craft shows. The most interesting resin shape Iโ€™ve been specializing in is by far the Polyhedral Dice shapes used for table top role playing games. They can come in all sizes and styles! Plus, platonic shapes are also known as sacred geometry. I especially appreciate the multi-meaning of these little bits and bobs of art. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Since finishing business classes in 2024, LUSTER Studios has been hard at work and behind the scenes I am both overwhelmed and excited as hell to share more and more of my artistic journey. Please stay tuned, new updates should come once a week!

Oh, andโ€ฆ by the wayโ€ฆ my name is ErinMarie. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’Ž๐ŸŒˆ
